This is the same Glencroft dollhouse, by Greenleaf, that I built. It took me almost 3 years to finish the final version, I built it once (not listening to my hubby) using hot glue and ended up tearing the whole house apart and rebuilding it. I painted black trim on mine. I used a spackle material to create a brick effect on the chimney.

This is the base interior they give you, I made a few changes in mine. I left the door out of the kitchen/living room area. I made my own linoleum floors - for the kitchen and bath. I carpeted the living room and bedroom. I also made my own curtains for the whole house, as well as most of the furniture (not pictured here - need to get updated photos soon).

This is another of the dollhouses that I have built - the Oregon Trail by Duracraft. With this one I stained the wood a red mahgony. I again used a spackle material to create a brick effect on the chimney. I reversed the front door; putting the 'Z' frame on the inside. The kit came with enough wood to make a buffet/hutch, a couch, bed, and a table and bench set. I had enough wood left over after, that I was able to make two end tables for the loft, a chair to match the couch, and a coffee table. I also flipped the second floor so the smooth side was up. It looked a lot better that way.

This is the current project! It is the Southern Mansion, also by Duracraft. I have made more changes to this one. I have added three extra walls - two on the second floor and one on the top floor. I have changed the first floor staircase as well. I didn't like the fact that you would've had to go to the back of the house to go up the stairs; I took it so far down, then put a small landing and turned the remainding stairs to head towards the front door. The front door - another spot I made some changes! I made the front entry way into a set of double doors instead of the single door. I thought it would look a little more fancier... This house is not yet complete, I've been working on it now for about a year, and still have lots of work left to do. I think I'll be keeping this one - no idea where it's going to go, or if I can even get it out of the basement!!!
